The Ngāti Rangi uri through their work with the Whare Wānanga Trust, Whanganui River Māori Trust Board and personal interested kicked started initial research in the Ngāti Rangi Rohe. The enthusiasm in research and the support of the Whanganui River Māori Trust Board launched the way forward for the development of the Ngāti Rangi Trust.
