The KÄhui Maunga logo was created by Mindy-Lu Pakinga. The key theme of the logo links to our descent on Te Rau-hÄ-moa from the heavens.
There are two components to the logo: the bird and the feather.
The bird represents both Te Rau-hÄ-moa and Paerangi. The three blue shaded koru represent Rangituhia, Rangiteauria and Uenuku-Manawa-Wiri.
The feather also represents Te Rau-hÄ-moa. The four blue haehae designs represent the numerous ancestors from which the people of the KÄhui Maunga descend.
The use of blue represents both the heavens and Koro Ruapehu, in particular the reflection of the sky on the mountain which gives a blue colour to the mountain.
